Men's Soccer defeats Ohio Christian behind Romanello's brace

Portsmouth, Ohio – Shawnee State men's soccer got their first victory of the year on Saturday afternoon, breaking a three-game losing streak with a win over Ohio Christian 3-1.

The Bears took the lead in the first half when Bryce Romanello fired in a shot from 12 yards in the 15th minute. Team captain Martyn Sayer would give Shawnee State a second in the 39th minute off a free kick from Joe Lamont.

Romanello would strike again just after halftime, with his 50th minute goal wrapping up the scoring. Enrico D'Agostini would pull back a goal for Ohio Christian in the 62nd minute, but the late Ohio Christian surge was unable to overcome the deficit.
