Golden Bears too much for Shawnee State

Portsmouth, Ohio - The Shawnee State men's soccer team fell 2-0 to West Virginia Tech University in the Kick for Crohn's Game on Tuesday afternoon.

Tech scored the only goal in the first half. Sergio Sanchez and Ignacio Tellechea teamed up to find Matias Pazos for a goal in the 36th minute of action. Pazos added to Tech's score in the 65th minutes on an assist from Francisco Neta.

Shawnee State was out shot 6-2 on shots in goal.

Cody Hartong took the loss for the Bears. He allowed two goals with five saves. Tech's Hunter Moles got the win recording two saves in the match.

Shawnee State falls to 0-3 on the season. West Virginia Tech improves their record to 4-1-1.

Shawnee State returns home on Saturday, September 17 to host Ohio Christian University as part of Alumni + Family Weekend. The men's game will begin at approximately 2:30 following the women's contest. An alumni game will follow the men's game.
