Portsmouth, Ohio – Shawnee State women's soccer had three players named Mid-South Conference All-Conference selections on Wednesday night.
Jenny Campbell (JR/Chillicothe, Ohio) was honored as a first team All-Conference selection. The junior midfielder from Chillicothe, Ohio is tied for second in the conference with 10 goals in 13 matches. Campbell scored eight of her 10 goals in October, including a hat trick against Life and two goals each against Campbellsville and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods (Ind.).
Two Shawnee State players earned second team honors, as goalkeeper Michaela Garner (SO/Heath, Ohio) and forward Maddie Woodard (JR/Camden, Ohio) were selected to the second team. Garner, a sophomore from Heath, Ohio, is second in the conference with 108 saves and was pivotal for Shawnee State's 6-2 record in October as the Bears surged to fifth place in the Mid-South Conference.
Maddie Woodard was also selected to the second team for scoring six goals and adding one assist during the regular season. The junior from Camden, Ohio scored all of her goals in October to also help with the Bears' run to fifth place, including goals against Life, Union (Ky.), and Rio Grande. Woodard scored a hat trick against St. Mary-of-the-Woods.
The fifth seeded Bears take on Cumberlands in the 4-5 match this evening at 7:30pm.
