Campbellsville, Ky. - Shawnee State women's soccer made it four wins in a row on Saturday evening, defeating (RV) Campbellsville 2-0 behind a pair of Jenny Campbell (JR/Chillicothe, Ohio) goals.
Campbell would score a goal in both halves. In the 36th minute, the Bears found themselves on the break after Maddie Woodard (JR/Camden, Ohio) juked her defender. After passing back, the Bears would put a ball forward to Destiny Chester (FR/Canal Winchester), and the attempted clearance was deflected into Campbell's path, who fired home from the top of the 18 yard box.
Campbell would score a penalty in the 87th minute to put the game to bed. Olivia Ball (FR/Greenup, KY) would be brought down in the box after a corner, and Campbell found the net from the spot.
With the win, Shawnee State improves to 4-4-2, and 3-2 in the Mid-South Conference. Campbellsville are now 8-6, and 0-4 in the conference.
Shawnee State are next in action on Wednesday, October 19th when they take on Rio Grande on Senior Day. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00pm.
