Men's soccer rallies for overtime win

Circleville, Ohio – Shawnee State men's soccer were on the road on Saturday, overcoming a 2-0 halftime deficit to defeat Ohio Christian 3-2 in double overtime.

The first half was the opposite of the previous matchup between the teams on September 17th. Brent Palmer scored for Ohio Christian in the 10th minute, and Jon Perger increased the Trailblazers' lead in the 30th minute. The Bears trailed 2-0 at halftime.

Shawnee State would score twice late in the second half to equalize the score. Bryce Ronamello scored in the 80th minute, continuing his impressive freshman year. Captain Maryn Sayer would then level the score in the 82nd minute. Caspar Nolte (SO/Germantown, Ohio) would win the game in the second overtime in the 108th minute. For scoring the winner, Nolte was named the Toro Loco Man of the Match.

With the win, Shawnee State improves to 3-6 on the year. Ohio Christian falls to 2-7.

The Bears are next in action on Sunday, October 2nd when they host Cincinnati-Clermont at Shawnee Turf. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00pm.
