Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Bears fall to No. 4 Lindsey Wilson in Mid-South semifinals

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. (Women's Soccer) – No. 4 Lindsey Wilson recorded 40 shots – including 26 on goal – and the Shawnee State women's soccer team tabbed just one, as the Blue Raiders defeated the Bears, 16-0 in the semifinal round of the Mid-South Conference Tournament.

Lindsey Wilson's Anna Vig scored five goals in the contest and Amanda Kander added four of her own to pace the Blue Raiders, the top-seeded team in the tournament.

Junior goalkeeper Mollie King (JR/West Jefferson, Ohio) was hit with a barrage of shots throughout the contest, but was able to come up with a couple of tremendous saves. She finished the game with eight stops.

Shawnee State's lone shot of the contest came on a good chance from Jenny Campbell (FR/Chillicothe, Ohio) in the 18th minute. The freshman found space down the left side, setting up a shot from just outside the 18-yard box, which was saved by the Lindsey Wilson keeper.

The season now comes to a close on an historic season for the Shawnee State squad. After hosting a conference tournament game for the first time since joining the Mid-South Conference in 2010, the Bears earned their first-ever postseason victory with a win over Georgetown College on Nov. 7.

Senior Aubrey Sherman (SR/Clarksville, Ohio) sees her career come to a close after a wonderful four-year career with the Bears. Sherman finishes her career having started and played in every single contest over a four-year span. Her 74 starts are more than any player in Shawnee State history.

The Bears finished the season with a 10-9-0 record, including a 4-3-0 mark in Mid-South Conference play.
