Shawnee State Men's Soccer took down Brescia University, 3-0, Saturday afternoon. With the win the Bears move on to 7-6-1 for season, while Brescia falls to 0-13 overall.
The Bears opened up the game dominating possession, and quickly put one away in the 13th minute. Junior Chad Johnston tallied the first goal for Shawnee with the help of a through ball from Freshman Joseph Webster. Late in the first half Johnston was able to lead Freshman Dylan Stevens to the net for his first goal of the match. Shortly after the opening of the second half, Shawnee's Webster got a goal of his off of an impressive volley to himself in order to set up the shot. The Bears closed out the match with 19 total shots and nine shots on goal.
Shawnee will return to the Shawnee Turf on Wednesday, October 19, to take on rivals Rio Grande. The game is schedule to start at 4:00 p.m. after the conclusion of the Women's game.
