BUCKHANNON, W. Va. -- Shawnee State (0-1-1, 0-0-1) earned its first NCAA Division II point in its draw against West Virginia Wesleyan at Cebe Ross Field on Sunday.
Harlee Brand faced immediate pressure to begin the Bears' first Mountain East Conference game in school history, as the junior recorded saves in the 3' and 9', respectively.
Brand made two more saves in the 28' and 32' before
Annie Coriell put Shawnee State's first shot on goal in the 33', but Bobcat goalkeeper Renya Dalton made the save.
The Bears and Bobcats reached halftime tied 0-0.
In the second half, Brand recorded saves in the 56', 70', 76', 79' and 81'.
Shawnee State did not tally a shot in the second half, as Brand kept West Virginia Wesleyan scoreless to secure the 0-0 draw.
Bears by the Numbers
Harlee Brand recorded nine saves and posted her first shutout of the season, and the fifth of her career. Brand ranks fifth in the Mountain East Conference with 15 saves on the season, and third in  save percentage (.882).
Annie Coriell recorded the Bears' only shot of the match, which was also on goal.
