DETROIT, Mich. -- The Detroit Pistons announced its NBA Summer League roster Thursday, with former Shawnee State forward Latavious Mitchell among those selected.
Mitchell averaged 10 points and 7.4 rebounds per game across three seasons at Shawnee State and was part of the Bears' 2021 NAIA National Championship team.
During the 2022-23 season, Mitchell's last in Portsmouth, he helped lead Shawnee State to its third NAIA National Tournament bid in program history by averaging 12.9 points and a team-high 8.8 rebounds per game.
Mitchell spent the following two seasons at Florida Memorial, where he averaged 14.6 points and 9.9 rebounds per game and was named the 2024-25 Sun Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year.
He then spent the 2025-26 season with Irish Guide Dogs Ballincollig of the Irish Super League, averaging 21.8 points and 12.4 rebounds per game in 24 contests.
The Pistons open NBA Summer League play Thursday, July 9, against the Philadelphia 76ers at Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on Prime Video.
