PORTSMOUTH, Ohio -- Shawnee State football has named
Chad Vanderhoof its football operations coordinator, making him the first addition to the program's assistant coaching staff.
Vanderhoof is a 2002 graduate of Raceland-Worthington High School, where he was a four-year letterman in both football and track.
He led Wolfe County High School's (Ky.) football program from 2018-20, before serving as the offensive coordinator at Lewis County High School (Ky.) from 2020-21.
Vanderhoof most recently served in Kentucky Christian's football program, where he held multiple roles from 2021 to 2025, including associate head coach, football operations director, special teams coordinator and running backs coach.
Mark Snyder, Shawnee State's football head coach, said Vanderhoof is the perfect candidate to help jump-start the program.
"Chad is a local guy that understands the region and embraces it," Snyder said. "He understands the vision for Shawnee State football and will help lead this program to long-term success."
Shawnee State football is scheduled to begin competition in the NCAA Division II's Mountain East Conference in the fall of 2028.
