CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Connor Ignacio set a new Shawnee State men's outdoor track and field javelin record at the Charlotte 49er Classic with a throw of 48.11 meters.

The redshirt senior surpassed Cody Tolliver's mark of 46.31 to establish the new record.

Ignacio did so in the same event where teammate Chayse Lipscomb set Shawnee State men's outdoor records in the 200-meter dash and 110-meter hurdles.

The Shawnee State men's and women's outdoor track and field teams return to action Saturday, March 28, for the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Open in Cedarville, Ohio.
