Box Score GRAYSON, Ky. -- Shawnee State (23-4, 15-0) picked up another River States Conference win Saturday, beating Kentucky Christian 92-80 at Ron Arnett Court.
The Bears led the Knights 41-37 with three seconds to go in the first half when Kentucky Christian's Jayden Loydd knocked down a contested three-pointer from the top of the key as time expired to cut Shawnee State's halftime lead to 41-40.
Kiante Williams led Shawnee State in first-half scoring with nine points, along with four rebounds and two steals.
KCU's Jayden Loydd led all scorers with 14 points, shooting 5-of-6 from the field, 1-of-1 from beyond the arc and 3-of-3 at the free-throw line.
The Bears opened the second half with a 25-15 run to take a 66-55 lead over the Knights with 10:31 remaining.
Over the final 10 minutes, Shawnee State held its double-digit lead, outscoring Kentucky Christian 26-25 to secure the 92-80 road victory.
Tyreon Payne led the Bears with 23 points, 17 of them coming in the second half. The senior has scored 11 or more points in four straight games.
Jareon Mayo scored 17 points, his most over the last 10 games, while
Jason Steele added 10 points and five rebounds.
Kiante Williams had nine points and four rebounds, while
Ahmadou Aw and
Rheyce DeBoard scored eight points each.
Damon Charles and
El Sieger each finished with six points.
Kentucky Christian's Markell Hood led all scorers with 25 points, along with 11 rebounds.
