Box Score RICHMOND, Ind. -- Despite trailing by two at halftime, Shawnee State (18-7, 9-4) rallied in the second half to beat IU East, 91-77.
The Bears and Red Wolves traded runs and leads in the opening quarter before IU East closed the frame on a 13-4 run to take a 20-15 lead after the first.
Shawnee State battled back in the second quarter, outscoring IU East 31-28 to narrow the gap to 48-46 at halftime.
Ra'Khyia Prince led the Bears in first-half scoring with 12 points, while
Laken Williams added 11.
In the third quarter, Shawnee State edged out IU East 21-17 to lead the Red Wolves 67-65 going into the fourth.
The Bears maintained their momentum in the fourth quarter, outscoring IU East 24-12 to secure the 91-77 road victory.
Shawnee State was led by
Ra'Khyia Prince and
Miyoshi Ellis, who each scored 21 points. Ellis recorded a season-high 10 assists for her first double-double of the season, while Prince's 21 points marked a career-high for the freshman.
Kyla Torok earned her third double-double of the season with 18 points and a season-high 16 rebounds.
Laken Williams recorded 15 points and collected three steals. The sophomore has now scored 11 or more points in six of her last seven games.
The duo of
Emily Maynard and
Jariah Steele scored seven points apiece, while
TK Catchings added two points and four rebounds.
