KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The NAIA has selected
Ahmadou Aw as its National Defensive Player of the Week.

Aw, who was selected as the
River States Conference's Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, now becomes the first Shawnee State men's basketball player to earn national honors this season.
The sophomore from Germantown, Maryland collected 11 steals in two conference games last week, including a season-high seven steals in the Bears
79-74 overtime win at IU Southeast on Saturday.
Aw also averaged five defensive rebounds per game, grabbing six in Shawnee State's
84-78 win over Kentucky Christian and four against IU Southeast.
Shawnee State (16-4, 8-0) returns to action Thursday, Jan. 29, when it travels to Beckley, West Virginia to face West Virginia Tech. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
