BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Behind a blistering three-game average of 228 that saw Shawnee State's
Blake Landers claim a top-10 finish, the junior from South Point, Ohio and Coal Grove High School was named as the Mid-South Conference's Bowler of the Week, as announced by conference officials within the MSC Tuesday afternoon.
Landers, who placed sixth overall in the 132-bowler field as part of the DO Apparel-Brunswick Collegiate Open, posted his best career performance in the event, dropping 224, 246 and 214 pins, respectively, in Games 1 through 3 to post a three-game average of 228 -- the fourth-highest average among all Ohio Bowling Conference (OBC) representatives and the highest average among all schools who compete in the Mid-South Conference in the event. Landers dropped 684 pins in all.
Shawnee State, who placed sixth in the season-opening event, will be back in action Saturday, Oct. 18 at the Ohio Bowling Conference's Event No. 1.
