One day following the Shawnee State men's soccer program's singular showdown against a top-notch foe in Campbellsville, the Shawnee State women's soccer program takes center stage with its own matchup, as the Bears will take on Union Commonwealth (Ky.) Wednesday evening at 5 p.m. at Shawnee Turf in Portsmouth.

• Shawnee State has received goals from juniors Annie Coriell and Lucie Ashkettle across its first two contests in 2025. Coriell and Ashkettle have combined for 17 career goals at Shawnee State -- as Ashkettle has 10 goals while Coriell has seven of her own.
• The Bears sit 0-2 overall with 3-1 and 2-1 setbacks to Mount Vernon Nazarene and Pikeville (Ky.), respectively -- but Shawnee State battled MVNU and UPike to 0-0 scoreless ties in the opening halves of both matches, and were tied with the Cougars -- and leading UPike -- in the second halves of the nonconference matches before dropping two goals late in both halves of competition.
• Sophomore goalkeeper Harlee Brand has stopped nine shots this season so far in goal.
• Both Mount Vernon and Pikeville are a combined 4-0-1 this season -- while Union (Ky.) enters Wednesday's match 0-3 overall.

• While Union (Ky.) sits 0-3 to start the 2025 season, the Bulldogs did go 7-7-4 in 2024 -- Union's best season since the 2016-17 campaign when the Bulldogs went 10-8-2.
• Union sophomore Alberta Yirenkyi and Union junior Iyana Campbell are Union's top returning players. The duo led the Bulldogs with 14 goals, five assists and 33 points combined in 2024 -- as Yirenkyi posted eight goals and two assists while Campbell notched six goals and three assists.
