BEREA, Ohio -- Shawnee State sophomore discus thrower Alan Austin began the two-day Harrison Dillard Twilight Meet for Shawnee State with a second-place performance in the discus throw, notching a 158-foot, nine-inch throw to claim second out of 15 competitors.
Austin posted the top mark among any competitor that wasn't an unattached thrower in the event, outperforming the next-closest attached thrower -- Thomas Hickman of Baldwin Wallace -- by two feet, eight inches in the event.
The seven additional Shawnee State track and field competitors will be back in action Friday for the final day of the Harrison Dillard Twilight Meet, which will take place at George Finnie Stadium and the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds in Berea, Ohio.
