The men's track and field program will see four individuals compete in four different events over the course of the three-day NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, as Eli Adkins, Alan Austin, Isaiah Lanoy and Luke Rader will compete in the high jump (Adkins), discus (Austin), 3,000 meter steeplechase (I. Lanoy) and long jump (Rader) next Wednesday through Friday at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind.
Isaiah Lanoy
A repeat national qualifier, Isaiah Lanoy returns to the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championship stage in the 3,000 meter steeplechase after a dominating close to the season that saw Lanoy run a 9:13.97 to win the 2025 River States Conference Championship in the event in late April, then a 9:12.49 at the 2025 Harrison Dillard Twilight Meet to solidify his seventh-place seeding heading into the national championships.
Lanoy, who has enjoyed another strong campaign in 2024-25 with three First-Team All-RSC and four Third-Team All-RSC honors between cross country and indoor and outdoor track, as well as national qualifications that included a top-70 finish in cross country and two top-20 national finishes in the 3,000 meter run and the distance medley relay in indoor track and field, ran a 9:27.75 in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in the 2024 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships to place 19th. The sophomore is one of only two NAIA National Qualifiers from the River States Conference in the 3,000 meter steeplechase this season in the 23-runner field.
Lanoy competes in the 3,000 meter steeplechase preliminaries at 7:55 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, with the opportunity to advance to Friday, May 23's finals at 1:20 p.m. with a fast enough time in the preliminary race.
Luke Rader
Having already obtained NAIA All-American status in the long jump during the indoor track and field season, Luke Rader will attempt to seize an opportunity to accomplish the same feat during next week's NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships when Rader competes in the event after qualifying with a 7.30-meter (23-foot, 11-and-a-half-inch) long jump at the 2025 Harrison Dillard Twilight Meet.
With six First-Team All-RSC honors, a Third-Team All-RSC nod, and the 2025 River States Conference Newcomer of the Year Award already in the bag between the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons in addition to his NAIA All-American effort in the long jump during the indoor season, an event that Rader placed eighth in with a 23-foot, 11-inch mark, Rader will look to continue to step up in big moments once again.
Rader, who is currently is tied for 18th in the NAIA in the event from an outdoor standpoint and is the lone River States Conference representative who will be competing in the event, competes in the long jump Thursday, May 22 at 2:30 p.m.
Eli Adkins
A true freshman who has busted his way onto the national scene, Eli Adkins' River States Conference meet-winning jump of 2.06 meters (six feet, nine inches) has the freshman tied for 10th nationally among the 24 competitors who qualified to compete for the national title in the high jump.
Adkins, who swept the River States Conference Championship meets in both indoor and outdoor track and field in the high jump, is tied with Central Methodist (Mo.)'s Harvey Sayon as the top freshman high jumper in the NAIA. Adkins will be the only River States Conference participant in the event.
Adkins will compete in the high jump at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 22.
Alan Austin
Another outstanding field athlete who flirted with NAIA All-American status in 2025 as a discus competitor, Shawnee State sophomore Alan Austin will attempt to improve on his impressive showing in the 2024 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, where Austin placed 10th with a 49.33-meter (161-foot, 10-inch) throw in the discus.
A two-time defending River States Conference Champion in the discus who also added in First-Team All-RSC honors in the javelin throw in April, Austin has improved to a 52.26-meter (171-foot, five-inch) throw this season. Austin is seeded 10th in the NAIA heading into the national championships and will also be the only River States Conference participant in the event.
Austin will throw in the discus at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 22.
