Rocket League Swept From National Tournament

SSU Rocket League competed in round one of the NACE national tournament Monday night. They took on the tenth-seed St. Clair Saints, falling in an 0 – 4 sweep to end their season.

Game one was a tough 0 – 3 opener for the squad. Senior PJ Fiscus (gamertag: Fisci25) earned the most saves with two to his credit. Both Dyllan DeBruyne (gamertag: Duckworth) and fellow senior Kevin Keller Jr. (gamertag: QuietKiller) prevented one goal each. Game two was a 1 – 5 loss for the squad, with Fiscus scoring the lone goal to put the Bears on the board. DeBruyne earned an assist on the goal, as well as four saves to lead the match.

Game three was a heartbreaker overtime loss with a 2 – 3 score. Fiscus and Keller each claimed one goal. DeBruyne played the supporting role with the only assist and three saves to his credit. After the Saints put a stop to their momentum, the Bears fell in game four with a score of 2 – 9. Fiscus and DeBruyne took early goals in an attempt to regain momentum, but were unable to stop the onslaught of shots from the Saints.

This ends the season for SSU Rocket League as they bid farewell to seniors Fiscus and Keller.
