The women's tennis program at Shawnee State got a victory from Lexy Urban at No. 5 singles, but ultimately dropped a 6-1 decision to the Midway Eagles' women's tennis program Tuesday evening in a River States Conference contest that was held at the Daehler Tennis Courts in Portsmouth.
Urban ultimately posted a 6-3, 4-2 victory over Midway's Grace Froedge at the previously mentioned position to help Shawnee State post a triumph, while Lexy and Lacey Urban gave Midway's No. 2 doubles pairing of Bella McKinney and Nana Hishida a scare before falling by a scant 7-6 (7-5) margin. Brooklyn Foose and Vanessa Akauka fell by a tight 6-4 count at No. 3 doubles to Angelia Herrera and Jasmine McClenahan.
In additional affairs, Lacey Urban won 6-3 in the opening set at No. 3 singles against Hishida before ultimately dropping a 6-3, 1-6, 4-6 decision, while Akuaka, Antonia Ilea and Foose took at least four games in a set each before falling 6-0, 6-4; 6-1, 6-4; and 6-2, 6-4, respectively to Agustina Olivero, Mara Guillen, and Herrera, respectively.

The women's tennis program at Shawnee State will face Mount Vernon Nazarene Saturday afternoon at 12 p.m. Senior Day festivities will commence on that day as well at Daehler Tennis Courts.
