The baseball program at Shawnee State finished out a three-game nonconference set against Cumberlands (Ky.) Friday afternoon in Williamsburg, Ky., dropping a nonconference matchup to the Patriots by an 11-1 margin.
Nolan Tressler posted an RBI-producing base knock with two outs in the fifth inning to score Luis Mejia and get the Bears on the board.
Tressler went 4-for-11 with a double and an RBI while Noah Sniadach produced in a strong manner from the three-hole, going 6-for-10 with three doubles and a run scored in the series.
Shawnee State will play each of its next five games in the local area as the Bears will host Miami-Hamilton in a nonconference doubleheader that will be played Wednesday, Feb. 21 at VA Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe beginning at 1 p.m. and will host Concordia (Mich.) in its season-opening three-game set at Branch Rickey Park beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 12 p.m. as well as a single contest on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 12 p.m.
