The placings this weekend from the Bears were Nick Byers (gamertag: Menance) 3-3 placed 16th, Alex Estep (gamertag: AlanDander) 3-3 placed 21st, and Timothy/Bryan Meadows (gamertag: Lunarsky) 1-4 placed 27th. Thirty-nine people competed in this qualifier.
Deck List
Byers prefers aggressive and heavy board control style of play. To represent this style he brought an aggressive deck, the Mech Rouge. To compliment the other style, Byers brought a Control Warlock deck with the goal of playing the long game.
Estep prefers heavy control and late game deck. Representing this style he brought Control Warlock and Control warrior. This was alongside a more later game focused deck, Drum Druid.
Meadows prefers to play midrange style decks to control the board early and play for large swing turns later on. He brought Pure Dude Paladin for early game pressure, then Drum Druid to play for large boards and massive swing turns

Overall, the bears had a good day for the first qualifier for the season. Estep had close rounds every time, with moves that could have put him into day two if played slightly different. Byers and Meadows, competing in their first tournament of their Heathstone careers learned a lot and are looking forward to the next qualifier in October and spending the next month preparing for it. With none of the bears qualifying for the top 8, they do not earn any points. They still have 5 qualifiers left where they must place in the top 8 or greater to earn points for the spring finals.
The Bear's Hearthstone next qualifier is October 14th at 1PM EST.
