The Bears traveled down to Lebanon, Tennessee to face the Pheonix of Cumberland University in the Opening round of the Mid-South Conference Tournament. After playing a doubleheader on Friday afternoon, Shawnee States season would come to a close after falling in both games to the Pheonix.
Game one of the afternoon would see Jacob Gleason on the mound, but Gleason struggled as the CU offense was scorching hot from the first pitch. Gleason could not catch a break as the Pheonix got base hit after base hit knocking the senior ace out of the game in the second inning. Over the next four innings, Bear's pitching limited the Cumberland offense to only four runs. Shawnee State got on the board on the opposite side of the field after a couple of base knocks from Tyler Lund and Charles Douglas, leading to a three-run homer from Eric Oakes. SSU score one run in the top of the seventh when Lund and Douglas found themselves on base again and Noah Snidach hit a fly ball to center field, scoring Lund from third base. That would be all the runs for the Bears, and they fell 18-4
- Six walks as a team
- Douglas had 2 hits
After a short 30-minute break the two teams would lace their cleats back up and do it all over again. The Pheonix would score four runs in the bottom of the first inning, but after that starting pitcher Eric Oakes settled in and limited runs. The Bears could not find the spark in the batter's box as they scored one run in the game as Ryan Scott scored on a wild pitch. That was it for SSU as they ran out of innings and fell 20-1 in the final game of the season.
