As the brackets for the NAIA Men's Basketball National Championship Opening Rounds presented by Ballogy have been released, the Shawnee State men's basketball team has been selected as one of five members from the Mid-South Conference to make it to the national tournament.

Despite a quarterfinals loss in the MSC Basketball Tournament, the Bears impressive performances over the season were enough to garner the attention of voters, pushing them into the Cramer quadrant, where they are the #14 seed.

Traveling to host site and first round opponents #3 Faulkner (Ala.), Shawnee will play their first game today at 7:30 p.m. The quadrant also plays host to #6 Union (Ky.) and #11 Southeastern (Fla.), who will play the first game of the day at 5:30.
