The Shawnee State Softball team traveled to Hamilton, Ohio to take on Miami University-Hamilton, in a Wednesday double header. The Bears took both games, scoring their opponent by 27 runs.
In game one, Cassie Schaefer went four innings allowing just two hits while striking out five not allowing a single run. Carly King would make an appearance in the fifth inning not allowing a hit and striking out one. The Bears would get the bats hot quickly scoring four runs off two doubles by Mackensie Hale and Andrea Little each providing two RBI. The bats would continue to be scorching, scoring five runs in the second to take an early 11-0 lead. Ashley Fite would double, Emily Allphin would homer and Haley Hawes would hit her first career homer in the inning. Each provides two RBI. The Bears would put up another five runs over the final three frames making it a 16-0 win for the Bears.
In game two, Cameryn Davidson went four innings allowing two hits striking out four, and allowing one earned run. Hailey Sneedon would throw the final inning striking out three. The Bears would do the majority of their work in the second inning. Allison Tom, Lexie Lockwood, Ashley Fite and Emily Allphin would all provide RBIs in the inning making the score 7-2. The Bears would score six over the final three innings. Kylie Ray, Rebekah Badgett, Fite, and Allphin all provided RBIs.
