The Shawnee State Baseball team traveled to Milligan, Tennessee, to take on Milligan University in four-game series, playing a doubleheader today as well as tomorrow. The bears would fall in both games, losing a close game one 8-7, and losing game two 15-5.

Game 1

In game one of the day, SSU took a two-run lead in the third inning off an Eric Oaks single to center, scoring Ryan Scott and Kyle Eslick. Putting up another two runs in the fourth from Tanner Lund scoring Diego Mendoza and Noah Rezner on a single, giving the Bears a 4-0 lead going into the bottom half of the fourth. Milligan got two runs back in the bottom half, quickly answered by a double down the right field line by Noah Rezner scoring Noah Sniadach, which was followed by a single to center from Tanner Lund scoring Scott and Rezner, putting SSU up 7-2 going into the sixth. Dylan Driskill singled and stole second base. Tyler Lund was next, following Driskill, singled, and with a Milligan error, SSU got the lead right back with Driskill scoring. In the third inning, SSU took a commanding five-to-one lead after the middle of the lineup got on base from walks and good hitting. Milligan answered by getting two runs back in the bottom of the inning and four more runs in the fourth then continued to pile on the runs for the final three innings. SSU sent Jakobe Reese to the mound for game 2 of the afternoon, and see appearances from multiple pitchers.
