In a River States Conference Quarterfinal matchup that was held in Oakland City, Ind., the Shawnee State men's soccer program fell to the Oakland City Mighty Oaks' men's soccer program by a 4-0 margin Saturday evening.
Shawnee State was held to one shot in the contest and was call for 16 fouls, as a total of 25 fouls in all were called during the affair.
Four SSU players are presently listed as seniors on the roster -- Joao Toledo, Johnathan Oliviera, Marco Riva, and Dylan Stevens.
Toledo, who has been a starter throughout his time inside the Shawnee State men's soccer program since joining the squad prior to the Fall 2019 semester, has put together a terrific career in particular.
In five full seasons – counting the abbreviated 2020-21 men's soccer campaign due to COVID – Toledo has posted 23 goals, 22 assists and 68 points, which puts the senior in fourth place in school history in both points as well as assists and sixth all-time in career goals. Toledo's former teammates, Kevin de Lange (career goals and points) and Thomas de Graauw (career assists) are the school's all-time leaders in those respective categories.
