The Shawnee State Women's soccer team played the Cougars from UC Clermont on Wednesday afternoon. The Bears wouldn't hold back and scored 5 goals.
For the first half, it was clear that the Bears had control of the ball by taking seven shots, but their first goal did not come until the 30th minute when Robyn Drinkwater took the shot and put it in the back of the net where the keeper could not reach the ball. The second goal for the Bears came in the 42nd minute when Lucie Ashkettle dribbled into the box and placed the ball on the left side of the goal. The Bears took their lead of 2-0 into halftime.
The second half started with a third goal for the Bears in the 47th minute and the second goal for Robyn Drinkwater assisted by Brianna Brudy. The only goal for the Cougars would come in the 57th minute by Lexi Taylor. The Bears found two more goals by Madison Culp and Brianna Brudy, leaving the game 5-1 in favor of the Shawnee State Bears.
The Shawnee State women's soccer team will hit the road on Saturday to face the Pioneers from Point Park at 6 p.m.
