Monday, Jaunary 23, League of Legends Varsity earned a 2 – 0 sweep over SSU League of Legends Academy in a MSC season match.
Game one was a 31-minute run for the squad, where the varsity Bears earned a total of twenty eliminations, against the nine held by the JV unit. Aaron Allen (gamertag: Turtlestrike) and Brandon Reed (gamertag: Aatreon) tied for top eliminations on the varsity side, with each player being credited with 6 to make up over half of the team's total. Leading the varsity squad in supportive play was Ethan Popp (gamertag: LegendaryEtan) and Chase Minor (gamertag: ArcticWolf) who earned ten assists each—roughly two thirds of the team's 31 overall count.
On the JV side, top eliminations went to Brandon Reed (gamertag: SenpaiAtTheDisco) with four final blows to his name. He also earned top gold with 12,456. Three players led in their supportive play, including Dustin Simpkins (gamertag: Breadlofe) and Nia Anderson (gamertag: KiloDestiny) who each had four assists to lead the squad. Thomas de Graauw (gamertag: Melegim) led the board for both sides with a high damage output. He dished out 28,162 damage to the varsity unit in the first game.
Game two was another win for the varsity Bears, who finished the match in a swift 21 minutes. The winning unit earned a total of 22 eliminations, while the JV squad once again took nine for their own. Top eliminations was held by Zachary Farrar (gamertag: Cpt Wiley) and Allen, who both earned six.
Next up for SSU Varsity is another MSC match on January 30. They face University of the Cumberlands at 7:00 PM on the official MSC stream.
