With a record of four games and no losses, the Shawnee State women's soccer team would hit the road to take on Rochester University. After a hard-fought contest and a late goal, the Bears would have to settle for a draw.
It wouldn't take long for the home side to make their mark on the game with Sammi Springer crossing a ball to Olivia Howes in the 14th minute, giving the Warriors an early lead. The Bears would begin to warm up to the game as the half went on, though the score line would be 1-0 at the break.
With high pressure being put on, the Bears would continue to seek their first goal. Thais Roberto would have several individual efforts saved, along with Sophia Martinez searching for another bit of free-kick magic. Though it would be in the 74th minute whenever the freshman phenom Briana Brudy would fire the ball into the back of the net. Even with continued efforts from Carlota Ipina Taylor and Frederika Ntumba, Shawnee State would have to go home with a 1-1 draw.

The Bears will have a short layoff before traveling to Wittenberg, Ohio, to play the University of Michigan-Dearborn on September 6th. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
