Smash Bros. Triumphs Over Ashland

Last Thursday, SSU Super Smash Bros. Ultimate played their third season match, this time against Ashland University. The Bears nabbed another 2-0 sweep with a comfortable lead in both games.

The first game in this best-of-three was a clean win, led by Benjamin Moushey (gamertag: Waywardness) as Zelda. Moushey eliminated the first opponent with ease; he took all three of their stocks while only sustaining 76% damage to himself. After nabbing two more stocks to create his total of 5, Moushey was eliminated. Desmond Craft (gamertag: EchoForce) took over for the Bears as Joker, cleaning up for his teammate and eliminating 4 more stocks to earn him a total of 5 before elimination. With only 2 stocks left on the side of Ashland, Mark Schueler (gamertag: Atlas) entered with his Pac Man play to finish the game. Without losing a stock, Schueler relieved Ashland of their remaining stocks to win the first game with a score of 6-0.

Game 2 was an even cleaner win for the squad, where Moushey's Zelda claimed another 5 stocks, ending his night with an overall total of 10. Craft came back in as Joker, this time running away with a whopping 7 stocks to complete the sweep for the Bears. During the final run, he only lost a single stock of his own, to end the game 8-0 in favor of Shawnee State. Teammates Chistopher Mowery (gamertag: SpaceMiner) and Dustin Simpkins (gamertag: Breadlofe) were on deck during this game, but did not need to assist their teammates in claiming the victory.

This win puts Bears Super Smash Bros. at a 3-0 record for the NACE season thus far. They'll be back October 6 with another NACE season match against Saint Ambrose University. Game time is 7:00 PM.
