Friday afternoon, the Bears welcomed Thomas More University for their final home conference series of the season. Shawnee State would fall to the Saints 11-9 in game one.
Shawnee would fall behind early as the Saints would have starter Kyle Wisniewski figured out from the first pitch. Wisniewski would settle in and throw five innings, giving up 11 hits while striking out six. The Bear's Tanner Lund would put Shawnee on board in the bottom of the fourth as he would hit a home run deep over the right-center field wall. The Bears would explode for five runs in the seventh inning leading the way was Howie Rodriguez, hitting a two-run home run. Javier Santiago and Lund would single, scoring a run each and putting SSU in striking distance. Lund would hit a three-run homer in the ninth inning, making the score that much closer. The Bears would eventually fall 11-9 in game one.
- Rodriguez 3-5, double, HR, 2 RBIs
- Noah Snidach 1-3, 2 walk
The Bears will be back in action tomorrow afternoon as they finish the series with Thomas More starting at noon. We will also be celebrating our 12 senior players in between the two games.
