This weekend series started out with a tough battle for Shawnee. The Bears would welcome in the Blue Raiders of Lindsey Wilson, dropping game one to the Blue Raiders 11-6.
The game would start rough for the Bears as early on the Blue Raiders would figure out starting pitcher Kyle Wisniewski as they would tag him for four runs in the first two innings. The Bears would battle back having their own four-run inning in the bottom of the second. The scoring fiasco would be started by the triple to the right-field corner off the bat of Jacob Heighton. He would later score off a Noah Sniadach single through the right side. Howie Rodriguez would come up to the plate in a big spot for the Bears with the bases loaded and he would work that same corner Heighton did clearing the bases and knotting the score back even at four. Wisnieski would settle in after that, going scoreless the next two innings completing the day, five innings with eight strikeouts. Bears would go back and forth with the Blue Raiders the next couple innings keeping the game knotted through six innings. Lindsey Wilson would get the final say in the game scoring the last five runs, putting the Blue Raiders up 11-6, handing Shawnee the loss ending the Bears night.
These teams will be back in action tomorrow Friday, March 11, at Noon as they play the final two games of the series.
