Shawnee State's senior Day matchup against Freed-Hardeman was a thriller of the ages. The back and forth battle was all about both teams going on runs and gaining a lead at one point or another, but a spectacular night from SSU's seniors ended with a 94-88 Bears victory.

There were 12 lead changes and 7 ties throughout the half, but Freed-Hardeman was able to take the lead at the end of the first; 50-48. The second half began the same way the first did, both offenses making shot after shot. As Freed-Hardeman built up a small lead, Shawnee's hustle for loose balls and their domination of the glass allowed them to hang around and mount their comeback. Miles Thomas sunk a pair of free throws at 13:04 to put the Bears up 62-60, but the Lions would go on a 9-0 run immediately afterwards.
F-H took an 8 point lead with just over 4 minutes to go, before SSU mounted their final comeback. Miles Thomas would connect on a short jumper, followed by Jaiden Guice's fifth triple of the game and SSU was right back in striking distance. Miles Thomas connected from deep with 2 minutes remaining as the Bears took the lead 86-85. The Lion's Kortland Martin hit a pair from the free-throw line, before back to back lay-ups from Jakiel Wells and Thomas forced a F-H timeout and the Bears up 3 with a minute left. Solid defense and Tre Beard's two ft's with 12 seconds left sealed the win, as SSU finished on top 94-88.
