After the first two weeks off the Bears traveled to Talladega College to play a four-game series with the Tornados. The Bears were victorious in the first game of day 13-5. In game 2 the Bears fell behind early and were not able to make up the run deficit.

Game 1 Recap

Shawnee State Bears came out with the intensity in the first game getting four of the game's first six batters on base. The Bears showed up full force offensively with a total of 11 hits, tallying 13 runs. Damion Coleman did his part driving in 3 runs on two hits, one of those being a 3-run home run. The pitching was also firing on all cylinders, Kyle Wisniewski made short work of the Tornados facing 13 through the first three innings. Garrett Goodwin came in for relief completing the last two innings sealing the 13-5 victory for the Bears.

Game 2 Recap

The start of game two was not what the Bears would hope for. Shawnee would go hitless in their first seven batters and not be able to scratch a run until the third inning. The Bears' pitching was highlighted by Drew Lowe who came in relief after a hot start for the Tornados knocked Jacob Gleason from the game. The Bears tried to start a comeback at the end of the game but they ran out of innings, Tornados taking the win 9-4

The Bears will be back in action tomorrow afternoon taking on Talladega playing another doubleheader starting at 12:30 PM EST
