Looking to add another win to their conference resume, the Shawnee State men's basketball team hosted Lindsey Wilson College. After yet another strong team performance, the Bears saw themselves victorious, winning 80-63.
After a short battle between Azubukie Nwankwo and Lindsey's fellow 7-footer, Shawnee looked to push the tempo up. Brandon Beavers controlled the game from the point guard position, adding in 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. Though the game went back and forth, the Bears kept a steady lead and a massive putback dunk by Latavious Mitchell guaranteed Shawnee's momentum heading into the second half.
With the home side comfortably ahead, Head Coach Delano Thomas looked for strong performances from lesser-called names. One of those names was Feisal Crumby, III who came in and nailed back-to-back three-pointers, sending both his teammates and the crowd into a frenzy. Tre Beard also showed off his impressive shooting, leading the team in the second half, going 3-3 from the field.
Capping off their 2022 portion of the schedule, the Bear will travel to Campbellsville University. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:00 on Saturday.
