Over his years at Shawnee State, Kevin de Lange has provided many terrific performances for the crowd at Shawnee Turf to take in.
However, even in Monday's efforts, de Lange accomplished a feat that he himself had never done.
By scoring four goals in a Labor Day contest against Trinity Christian, de Lange posted his sixth career hat trick -- and his first with a four-goal effort -- in the Bears' 7-2 victory over the Trolls Monday evening at Shawnee Turf in Portsmouth.
de Lange keeps foot down on gas pedal
de Lange, who was also joined in the goal column by Nathan Ewing, Joao Toledo and Bram Voskuilen, continued shooting his way into uncharted territory as the junior scored twice within the game's first 15 minutes to break a quick 1-1 tie, then added in blasts in the 22nd and 31st minutes of action to push Shawnee State's lead out to a commanding 5-1 margin at the halftime break.
His four goals now have de Lange at an incredible 51 blasts for his career -- and 122 career points -- after another fantastic display.
Ewing, Toledo continue strong starts to season
Having been consistent offensive contributors to this point, Nathan Ewing and Joao Toledo continued providing needed boosts into Shawnee State's offense Tuesday evening.
Ewing, who scored the game's opening goal in the second minute of action, and Toledo, who added in a piece of his own in the 55th minute of play, each scored their second goals of the season with their conversions. Toledo now has 13 goals, 12 assists and 38 points for his career while Ewing has four goals in his third year with SSU's unit.
Voskuilen, de Graauw showcase talents
Along with the play of the previously mentioned, Netherlands natives Bram Voskuilen and Thomas de Graauw were each impressive in Shawnee State's 7-2 win.
Adding onto de Lange's fantastic day for the homeland, Voskuilen scored his first career goal in the 60th to cap SSU's impressive offensive output. de Graauw, meanwhile, played the role of facilitator effectively, assisting on de Lange's third and fourth goals to close the books on the impressive win.
