SSU women drop MSC opener to Campbellsville, 5-0

Despite getting 11 combined saves from goalkeepers Hannah Bolender and Hannah Marzolf, the women's soccer program at Shawnee State fell to Campbellsville as the Tigers outshot the Bears by a 31-1 margin en route to a 5-0 triumph on Saturday.

Shawnee State, who fell to 4-6 on the year and 0-1 in Mid-South Conference play, didn't put together an official shot on goal in the contest and were outshot by 14-0 and 17-1 margins across both halves of competition. Campbellsville put 16 of their 31 shots on frame in the contest.

Jill Kelly fired the lone shot for Shawnee State in the contest. On the Campbellsville side, Lakin Walls (12th, 25th), Milena Derougeur (43rd), Sangmin Cha (65th) and Jessie Bryson (66th) all posted salvos during the affair for the Tigers (9-1, 1-0 MSC).

With the defeat, the Bears will look to rebound when Shawnee State takes on Lindsey Wilson in the first contest of what will be a doubleheader with the men. The women's bout against the Blue Raiders (5-2-1, 1-0 MSC) will commence at 5 p.m.
