Women's Basketball look for season sweep of (9) Lindsey Wilson

Columbia, Ky. - Shawnee State women's basketball will look for their 18th consecutive victory on Saturday afternoon when they take on (9) Lindsey Wilson at Biggers Sports Center.

The Bears are 22-3 on the season and remain perfect in the MIdSouth Conference with a 9-0 league record. Shawnee State took care of business on Thursday night, defeating (RV) Cumberland (Tenn.) 53-39 on the road. Lydia Poe (JR/Jackson, Ohio) had 20 points and nine rebounds to lead SSU.

Lindsey Wilson are 20-4 and are 7-2 in the MSC, good for third place in the league behind Campbellsville. The Blue Raiders defeated Pikeville 69-55 on Thursday night behind 26 points and 12 rebounds from Kayla Styles.

Shawnee State have dominated the season series with Lindsey Wilson all-time, holding a 17-4 lead on the Blue Raiders. SSU defeated Lindsey Wilson in Portsmouth earlier this year, winning 79-71.

Saturday's game has special significance for Shawnee State. The Bears are looking to put separation between themselves and Lindsey Wilson, with the Bears having a chance to go three games up on the Blue Raiders. SSU also has a chance, with a win, to be ranked number one in the NAIA Coaches' Poll for the first time since the 2001-02 season.

Tip-off between the Bears and Blue Raiders is set for 3:00pm Eastern time/2:00pm Central. You can join Jon Loughridge on Shawnee SportsNet for tomorrow's broadcast, found here: https://portal.stretchinternet.com/shawneest/
