Women's Basketball rolls Life 117-61

Marietta, Ga. - Shawnee State women's basketball stayed on their winning roll on Saturday afternoon, cruising past Life 117-61.

The Bears never trailed and would get out to a 26-8 lead after one quarter. Shawnee State would keep extending the lead behind a team record 17 made three pointers, breaking the previous single game record set against West Virginia Tech in 2008. SSU's defense was as good as their offense as they grabbed 54 rebounds, forced 15 turnovers and held Life to less than 20 points in each quarter.

Seven Bears scored in double figures, led by Brandie Snow (FR/Hartville, Ohio)'s 25 points. Carson Roney (FR/Waverly, Ohio) had 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for a double-double. Madison Ridout (JR/Jackson, Ohio) added 17 points, Shania Massie (SO/Greenfield, Ohio) had 16, Jonessa Moore (SR/Cincinnati, Ohio) had 15, Hannah Miller (SO/Coal Grove, Ohio) 14 and Ashton Lovely (SO/Jamestown, Ohio) chipped in with 10.

Kayla Kelly had 19 points and 15 rebounds to lead Life. Tierra Lindsey added 13 and Lucy Stone had 10.

The win moves Shawnee State to 25-2 and 10-1 in the Mid-South Conference. The Bears are still one game back of Lindsey Wilson for the conference lead, with the Blue Raiders maintaining their perfect 10-0 record on Thursday. Life falls to 5-23 and are 0-13 in the league.

Shawnee State are back in action for a top 10 showdown on Thursday night when they host #8 Campbellsville at Waller Gymnasium. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00pm.
