Men's Basketball falls to Life 83-70

Marietta, Ga. - Shawnee State men's basketball fell on the road on Saturday afternoon, losing to conference leaders Life 83-70.

The Bears would trail for most of the afternoon as Life would push the lead out to double digits by halftime. The Running Eagles, who are leading the Mid-South Conference in scoring offense in conference games, held a 39-24 advantage at halftime, and would keep their double digit lead for most of the second half. Shawnee State would cut the lead to eight in the second half on two occassions but could not get the game any closer.

Jacob Daniels (SR/Peebles, Ohio) led Shawnee State in scoring with 15 points. Jayllen Carter (JR/Portsmouth, Ohio) had 14 and J Murrell added 12.

Dalarian Williams had a game-high 21 points for Life. Jonathan Beausejour had 18 points, Mike Miller added 16 and Zach Landis chipped in with 10.

With the loss, Shawnee State fell to 8-16 and are 1-10 in the Mid-South Conference. Life improve to 15-10 and are now 11-2 in the Mid-South, maintaining their lead in the conference standings.

Shawnee State host Senior Night on Thursday, February 16th when they host Campbellsville. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:00pm with the senior ceremony to proceed the game.
