Portsmouth, Ohio – Shawnee State men's soccer had five players named Mid-South Conference All-Academic for the 2017 season.
SSU's honorees this season were Chris Jones (SO/Xenia, Ohio), Aaron Mazurkiewicz (JR/Vincent, Ohio), Caleb Roof (JR/Wheelersburg, Ohio), Aaron Keyser (SO/Portsmouth, Ohio) and Mitchell Patchett (FR/Dublin, Ohio). To be eligible for the award, student-athletes were required to be in their third term of enrollment and have maintained a 3.25 GPA.
In addition to earning the All-Academic award, Mazurkiewicz was Shawnee State's nominee for the Mid-South Conference Champions of Character Award. The award is given out annually to one player in each sport, with the player required to demonstrate how they follow the Five Core Values of Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Sportsmanship and Servant Leadership.
Shawnee State men's soccer get the 2017 Mid-South Conference Tournament started on Thursday morning when they play Lindsey Wilson. Kickoff is set for 9:30am.
