Volleyball falls at #1 Lindsey Wilson 3-0

Columbia, Ky. – Shawnee State women's volleyball were swept on the road Saturday afternoon, falling to #1 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) 3-0 (25-11, 25-13, 25-13).

The Bears would fall behind early in set one as Lindsey Wilson would storm out to a 5-1 lead. The Blue Raiders would use the fast early start to keep pushing the lead, eventually winning the set 25-11. The second and third sets would follow similar patterns, as Shawnee State would fall behind 8-3 in the second and 9-3 in the third as Lindsey Wilson would control the match to sweep 3-0.

Christina Shelton (SR/Blue Creek, Ohio) led Shawnee State with six kills. Paulina Sobolewska led all scorers with 10 kills to key the Lindsey Wilson attack.

The loss drops Shawnee State to 6-21 on the season and 1-10 in the Mid-South Conference. Lindsey Wilson improves to 23-0 and 12-0 in the league.

Shawnee State volleyball returns to action on Tuesday, October 24 when they play at Pikeville. First serve is set for 7:00pm.
