Volleyball falls in straight sets at Lindsey Wilson

Columbia, Ky. - Shawnee State volleyball continued Mid-South Conference action on Saturday, falling to #2 Lindsey-Wilson 3-0 (25-8, 25-25, 25-14).

The Bears kept the first set close until a 9-0 Lindsey Wilson run gave the Blue Raiders a 23-7 lead. The Bears were able to keep the next two sets closer, but couldn't string a run together to overcome the Blue Raiders, who cruised to the 3-0 win.

Lauren Helbig (SR/Mansfield, Ohio) led the way for the Bears with nine kills. Deanna Smith (JR/Riverview, MI) added 14 assists and 13 digs, with Madison Knipp (SO/Beaver, Ohio) contributing 17 digs. Eileen Acuna led the way for Lindsey Wilson with 11 kills and 12 digs.

With the loss, Shawnee State falls to 3-13 on the season, and 0-6 in the Mid-South Conference. Lindsey Wilson improves to 13-1 and 4-1 in the conference.

The Bears are back in action on Thursday, September 29th when they host Mid-South Conference foe Campbellsville. First serve is set for 6:00pm.
