Portsmouth, Ohio - Shawnee State women's soccer wrapped up their home schedule on Wednesday afternoon, falling to (RV) Georgetown 1-0 in Mid-South Conference Play.
Neither team made a breakthrough in the first half, with few chances for either team. Georgetown would grab the lone goal of the game in the 68th minute, when Bethany Massey would poke home after Michaela Garner (SO/Heath, Ohio) had a cross slip through her hands. Jenny Campbell (JR/Chillicothe, Ohio) would nearly equalize later in the half, hitting the crossbar on a free kick.
With the loss, Shawnee State falls to 5-5-2, and 3-3 in the Mid-South Conference. Georgetown improve to 11-3-1, and are 5-1 in the league.
Shawnee State will hit the road on Friday, October 28th when they play Saint Mary-of-the-Woods (Ind.). Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00pm.
