Portsmouth, Ohio – Shawnee State volleyball closed their home schedule on Tuesday night, falling to #8 Georgetown 3-0 (25-6, 25-16, 25-18).
The match was all Georgetown from the start, with the Bears falling behind early in all three sets. Georgetown would open the first set on an 8-1 run, and would put SSU away quickly. The second and third sets would be more competitive, but lengthy Georgetown runs would keep Shawnee State at arms' length and give the Tigers the win.
Hayley Carle (JR/Chillicothe, Ohio) would lead the Bears with five kills. Jenny Howell had 12 kills to lead the Tigers.
With the loss, Shawnee State falls to 5-23, and 0-13 in the Mid-South Conference. Georgetown improve to 25-4, and 11-2 in the league.
The Bears hit the road to close the regular season on Friday, November 4th when they travel to Campbellsville.
