Baseball Drops Both Games against No. 9 Faulker University

Montgomery, Ala. – Baseball could not hold off No. 9 Faulker University in a doubleheader affair. The Bears (2-4) dropped Game 1, 9-2 and could not hold off the Eagles (7-1) in the night cap, losing 8-1.

Shawnee State scored runs in the first inning of each game before Faulker took control in both outings. In the first game the Eagles scored single runs in the second and fourth innings to take the lead. Faulker then scored seven innings over the next four innings, including a three-run seventh.

The Bears mustard out six total hits and committed four errors in the game. Shawnee State was held scoreless for seven straight innings until scoring once in the ninth inning.

Shawnee State struck in the first inning once more in the second game, however, they were held scoreless for the remainder of the game. The Bears allowed 10 hits to the Eagles in the night cap.

Baseball will travel to face No. 18 Auburn University Montgomery tomorrow for a single nine inning game.
