Men's Basketball Bests Miami-Hamilton, 89-68

RIO GRANDE, Ohio – Men's basketball picked up its second straight win at the Rio Grande Saunders Insurance Tip-Off Classic with an 89-68 win over Miami-Hamilton. The win completes a perfect 2-0 weekend for the Bears.

Shawnee State put together a pair of solid halves in the win on Saturday. SSU led 44-31 after the first 20 minutes and stretched that lead to as many as 26 during the second half before completing a 21 point victory. Miami-Hamilton never held a lead in the game as the Bears scored the opening basket and led wire-to-wire in the most recent win.

Mark Bryant finished a team-high 15 points in the victory while added seven rebounds. He was one of four players in double figures as Ethan Moffatt and Dante Dunston each scored 12 points while Andrew Devlin added 10 points. Miami-Hamilton got 22 points from Curtis Johnson but just 46 points from the rest of the entire office.

The Bears shot over 53-percent from field in the game (34-of-63). The Bears also held a 53-23 edge in turnovers for the contest. Five different players secured at least five rebounds. In addition to his eight points, Kai Turner also added a team-high eight rebounds on the day.

After a 2-0 weekend on the road, men's basketball will return home to Waller Gymnasium this Tuesday against the University of Northwestern Ohio. That game will tip at 7 p.m.
