The Shawnee State Softball Team lost 7-1 to Campbellsville and was eliminated in the Mid-South Conference Tournament. Shawnee State closes the 2012 season with an overall record of 29-11.
The Bears struck first as sophomore Brittany Ellis (Lucasville, OH) scored on a double by freshman Kelsey Jenkins (Wheelersburg, OH) in the bottom of the second.
CU's Emma Napier hit a two-run home run in the third to give the Tigers the 2-1 lead.
Campbellsville put the dagger in the Bears in the final two innings. In the sixth, the Tigers hit another two-run home run and then scored three runs in the seventh on four hits and a Shawnee error.
Freshman Allie Chapman (Chesapeake, OH) was tagged with the loss. Chapman went the distance allowing seven runs on 14 hits with three strikeouts.
Taylor Wroe got the win for the Tigers. She worked 4.0 innings allowing one run on six hits with a pair of strikeouts.
In her final game for the Bears senior Jourdan Priddy (Xenia, OH) went 2-for-4 at the plate, while freshman Katy Bender (Canal Winchester, OH) went 2-for-4.
