Area veterans are invited to participate in Veterans Appreciation Day at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3 when the Shawnee State University Bears Baseball team takes on Ohio Dominican University at Branch Rickey Park.

"This is an opportunity for our baseball program to show our appreciation to our local veterans," said Ted Tom, SSU baseball coach. "Our team will be wearing camouflage jerseys in support of our veterans."

Veterans with the James Dickey Post of the American Legion Post 23 will present the flags. Veterans will be recognized for their service during the game.

Recruiters for the Army, Air Force and Marines will also be in attendance at the game.
